The Inventory Analyst reports to the Demand Planner and works closely with the U.S. and International Marketing teams, Purchasing, Forecasting, and Quality.

Freight & Logistics

  • Work with third party logistics companies to arrange the shipment of component goods and finished goods.
  • File freight claims with carriers for damages or shortages.
  • Analyze inventory logistic opportunities, identifying and implementing strategies to reduce inbound transportation costs.
  • Keep the Jack Black warehouse apprised of incoming finished goods shipments from multiple vendors’ locations.
  • Assign and maintain harmonized system codes in Dynamics NAV for components and finished goods shipped internationally.

Inventory Management

  • Work with third party fillers to receive and maintain component inventory levels in Dynamics NAV.
  • Calculate scrap rates of components consumed by third party fillers.
  • Work with purchasing and third party fillers to receive reimbursement for components which exceeded allowed scrap rates and generate monthly report of scrap rates by supplier to share with the team.
  • Backflush component inventory once production is completed by third party fillers.
  • Investigate inventory level discrepancies between Dynamics NAV and third party fillers.
  • Assist and monitor inventory levels of consigned inventory and third party warehouses.
  • Evaluate and resolve pending, excess, obsolete, and inactive inventory in the most cost effective manner.
  • Provide timely communication to necessary parties related to inventory transactions.
  • Analyze vendor delivery on-time performance opportunities and poor performance by working with the vendor. Collaborate with Quality team on master monthly vendor scorecard to track performance.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Develop proficiency with Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Jet Professional.
  • Support and develop weekly and monthly sales reports for marketing and other departments, such as new SKU launch performance by retailer, monthly SKU performance reports, etc.


  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Microsoft Power BI Desktop (or Tableau), and Jet Professional
  • Bachelor’s degree or 1-2 years equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of Programs with a strong Excel background being emphasized.
  • Ability to proactively analyze and evaluate complex data.
  • Ability to work independently and as a core member of the team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once, with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, influence, communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated and persuasive in presenting and selling ideas and executing their implementation.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
